Simple PhoneBook is a free Android app developed by BackCasey Software. As the name suggests, the app is a simplified phonebook that allows users to pick up a name and phone number to make a call. All contact names are sorted alphabetically and by Hiragana order, making it easy to find a specific contact.

The app is designed for people who need to make phone calls only and features a simplified interface that may be helpful for the elderly. Users can add a prefix to the outgoing call, and the frequently called number/person columns display the numbers that have been called or received more than three times in the call log.

However, the app has some limitations. To ensure fast startup, the app caches contact information, which means that any subsequent changes to contact info will not be updated automatically. Users must update the cache by swiping down on the contact tab. Additionally, the app supports default phone handlers but only allows two choices: answer or hang-up. There is no support for mute or hold.
